Candice Bergen grew up in Beverly Hills, her father was famous comedian Edgar Bergen. Before she turned to acting, she’d wanted to be a writer and photographer. From the mid-’60s to the mid-’70s, Bergen was a regular contributor to Esquire, delivering smart writing and elegant photography.
